Veterinarian  Dr. Alex Casuccio hails from West Virginia and attended veterinary school at Louisiana State University.   He offers 40 years of companion animal experience, with advanced skills in dermatology, orthopedic surgery, ophthalmic surgery, internal medicine and much more. As a previous practice owner of over 27 years and a previous Medical Director for a large corporate practice (supervising, mentoring and coaching 50 doctors at a time), Dr. Casuccio has developed top notch medical expertise along with the friendly, personal approach that all clients want. Dr. Casuccio holds a commercial pilot's certificate in both sea and land airplanes.  He hosted a very popular radio talk show for several years.  He has a passion for wrenching on his 1968 Corvette and you can often spot him on 2 wheels, motorcycling with his wife, Michelle, in the passenger's seat.  Camping and fishing are Dr. Casuccio's favorite outdoor activities.

Veterinarian Dr. Rachel Casuccio (daughter-in-law to Dr. Alex Casuccio) grew up in Landenberg, PA where her parents still reside. She graduated from the University of Delaware with a BS in Animal Science in 2004 and graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She has an avid interest in small animal surgery. In Dr. Casuccio's free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, John, reading, watching favorite TV shows and staying fit. Many clients know her by her maiden name, Dr. Rachel Cherico.

Veterinarian Dr. Holly Rice is originally from the East Coast. She earned her veterinary degree from Louisiana State University (LSU!) and now happily lives in Arizona. Dr. Rice sincerely loves her patients and prides herself in providing warm, personalized care. At home, Dr. Rice has a full house: Two English Lab Rescues (Enzo and Moon) and two cats (Kyau and Whiskey). In her free time she enjoys live music, working out, cooking, hiking, traveling and especially dock-diving with Enzo.

Veterinary Nurse Keaira was born and raised in Arizona and has been with Scottsdale Animal Healthcare since 2014. Keaira knew this was the right career path for her because of her love for all animals. After working each day at the veterinary hospital, Keaira enjoys spending time with her husband, their baby Kelton and two dogs Vern and Dawg.






Veterinary Nurse Maddi, is originally from Denver, CO and she came to Arizona to pursue her degree in Conservation Biology at ASU. She has always been passionate about helping all animals and aspires to start a career in Wildlife Rehabilitation. Maddi loves to spend her free time roller skating, hula hooping and showing her cattle dog mix Mowgli lots of love!


Veterinary Nurse Alex is originally from Washington State, she moved to Arizona 10 years ago and graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice. She's always had a love and passion for animals. When she isn't at work she is spending time with her dog Spartacus and loved ones.





Veterinary Nurse Lexi obtained her BS in Biology at the College of Charleston, SC and then moved back to her home state of Arizona.  She has been with Scottsdale Animal Healthcare for 4 years and over that time she has adopted 5 dogs. Please do not call her a dog hoarder, she prefers the term Collector of Fine Mutts. Currently, Lexi is working on a Master's Degree and will be applying to Veterinary school in the near future. PSA: Lexi has a gluten allergy, so gluten free goodies are appreciated.


Veterinary Nurse Marisa, an Arizona native, went to school here in the valley to be a certified vet tech. She has two dogs and grew up riding horses her whole life. When Marisa's not working, you can find her frolicking in the forest, vacationing overseas and spending time with friends and family.






Veterinary Nurse Morgan is an Arizona Native born and raised. She's a mother to her Chihuahua Earnie, Australian Cattle Dog Floki, and her leopard gecko, Marty. She chooses to spend her free time with her dogs either snuggling in bed or running around the park, gardening, or painting. Morgan graduated from Pima Medical Institute May 2020, going through the veterinary assistant program. In the future, she hopes to further her career working with animals from all breeds and sizes.



​Receptionist Christine grew up in Bristol, CT and has lived in Arizona for over 20 years with her daughter, Ashley. Christine is a courageous, upbeat, breast and colon cancer survivor.  She has a great love and passion for all types of animals which makes working at Scottsdale Animal Healthcare a perfect fit for her. She enjoys spending her free time riding her horse and also hanging out with her 4-legged family; Horse (Rio), 3 Dogs (Max, Sammy & Penny), Cat (Missy) and Blue Tongue Skink Lizard (Talon).





Receptionist Kaitlyn, was born and raised in Scottsdale and graduated from Northern Arizona University. In her free time, Kaitlyn enjoys hiking and riding her horses. Kaitlyn has always had a passion for helping animals and cannot wait for everything that Scottsdale Animal Healthcare has to offer!



Vet Nurse Tatuman Arizona native, earned her degree at GCU in hospitality management. However, having five fur children of her own, led her to the vet field. She is planning to finish her vet tech degree at Pima Medical Institute. In October of 2019, Tatum married her high school sweetheart and enjoys spending time with her husband, family & all of her pets when she is not working at the hospital.

Receptionist Kylie, was born and raised in Arizona and studied non profit management at Scottsdale Community College for two years before moving to Los Angeles. Kylie lived in California for two years before deciding to make the move back to Arizona to pursue her calling in Animal Healthcare. Kylie enjoys spending time with her furry friends and family. Kylie loves to travel and looks forward to when she can explore again!

Receptionist Elisabeth, grew up in North Carolina and graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Education. Elisabeth spends her free time paddle boarding, boating, hiking and snuggling with her two kitties at home. Elisabeth has always been a lover of all animals and is so happy to have a home at Scottsdale Animal Healthcare caring for your furry babies every day!
